A Trip to Egypt

Egypt is a very fertile land adjoining the river Nile and is bounded by the two seas – to the North is the Mediterranean Sea and to the East is the Red Sea. It is centrally situated at the intersection of Africa, Asia and Europe. Around 90% of the Egyptian population settled along the thin fertile lands on both side of the river Nile. The mighty Arabian Desert is located on the eastern side of the river valley and surrounded by a high crest of mountains. The Libyan Desert stretches along the top in North Africa

Population of Egypt:

Egypt is home to around 72 million inhabitants, and composes of around one fourth of the Arab population.

Language:

The official language of Egypt is Arabic, though the language spoken in streets differs in dialect largely from classical Arabic. Along with Arabic language, English is also widely spoken, so also French, Italian, German, and Russian

Religion:

Majority of the Egyptian population follows Islam. Even then, close to 12 million Christians are also residing in Egypt. Both of these communities enjoy easy coexistence. One of the major events among Muslims is the Ramadan, when they observe fast during the day. In the evening, there is a grand feast called “Iftar” and this commensurate street entertainment till sunrise next day.

One can see many changes in the political, cultural and economical spheres of life in Egypt today. This is very much relevant since the close of the nineteenth century.

Golf: You cannot afford to miss out to tee off in the shade along the Great Pyramids in the modern Cairo’s Mirage City, and picture yourself watching the exotic species of birds flying overhead Alexandria’s Sporting Club.
